Paris Hilton obviously cannot do absolutely anything she wants, as a judge proved today by sentencing her to 45 days of jail time for her probation violations. The judge denied Hilton the ordinary celebrity privilege of choosing her own detention facility, where she would have been able to pay a daily room and board fee for an “upgraded” cell. Instead, Paris will stay at Century Regional Detention Center, a jailhouse in Lynwood that houses L.A. county’s women inmates:

Inmates there get three low-sodium meals a day, with dinner the only hot meal. Beef and pork aren’t permitted – “it’s all poultry-based,” said Capt. Alice Scott, who oversees the 2,200-inmate facility she describes as “a very nice place.”

Like other high-profile Los Angeles County inmates – O.J. Simpson, Robert Blake, Robert Mitchum, Sirhan Sirhan and Charles Manson – Hilton will be segregated from the general population for her own safety, living in a one- or two-person cell.

In addition, Paris will be allowed one hour out of her cell each day to watch television, talk on the phone, and shower. She will not be allowed to bring her ubiquitous cellphone or Blackberry and has been ordered to report for her sentence on June 5th.

Paris must have never believed that she’d go to jail, or she’d never have arrived late for court today. That could have been the final proverbial straw for the judge in considering the scofflaw socialite’s fate.
