Peaches Geldof Explains the Universe

By Mr. Atoz in Peaches Geldof, Scientology, Smoking Bolts

Peaches Geldof

Not long ago Peaches Geldof spent a day or two hanging out with Fearne Cotton of ITV2. The idea here was to get past Peaches’ image as a useless social excrescence, practically the poster girl for vacuous self-entitlement, and let people meet the real Peaches. Bad idea, as it turns out, because the real Peaches is a lot more vacuous and obnoxious than most people thought. She nodded off repeatedly while Ms. Cotton was trying to interview her, seemed visibly annoyed that a television profile might involve being followed by people with video cameras, and tried way too hard to sound smarter than she really is:

You know what I’m intrigued by?… Stephen Hawking’s theories and Richard Dawkins’ theory. That’s what I care about. I want to talk about the Hadron Collider. I’ve always been really interested in quantum theories and how we came to be and why. That’s how, I guess, I got involved in spirituality and the religious path I chose to go down.”

Then she name-dropped the Higgs boson before getting to the spiritual meat of the interview. You will not be surprised to learn that Peaches’ “religious path” leads straight to Xenu. Yep, she’s a Scientologist. It would be fun to hear Peaches reconcile this with Dawkins’ luridly atheistic views, and even more fun to hear Professor Dawkins’ take on the subject. The man’s obnoxious, but he has a way with words.

Fearne Cotton summed up the experience by saying, “she hasn’t got that base level of politeness or etiquette.” Or check out the comments here, where one reader compares the sorry encounter to Fearne’s interview with Paris Hilton, and notes that Paris was much more down to earth and genuine. That’s it, America—time to throw in the towel. The UK is so far ahead of us in celebutard technology we may never catch up. Hell, in most American cities you can’t even find a decent vindaloo takeaway.
