Pete Doherty Rejected By Death (UPDATE)

Pete Doherty

Pete Doherty, the eternal junkie, has popped out of rehab and been clean and sober (from drugs) for six full weeks. However, that certainly won’t stop the drama.

According to News Of The World, Pete Doherty reportedly downed an entire bottle of mystery pills to end the pain and jealousy of seeing Kate Moss with another man, but Pete was rejected by death when he hurled the pills everywhere. This report comes courtesy of Johnny Fucking Headlock, who apparently wishes to sell as many tabloid stories as possible before he’s arrested for pushing Mark Bianco to his death. Johnny says that “Pete’s been really wound up over Kate showing off her new man” but that Kate constantly phoned Pete in rehab. He goes on: “Hopefully [sic] Kate will stay away this time but she can’t help herself. She’s obsessed with him.” Right. That must be the reason why Kate recently introduced her new boyfriend to family at daughter Lila Grace’s fifth birthday party.

At any rate, Doherty stayed clean in Clouds House clinic in Wiltshire for six weeks and will be back in court for sentencing on October 26. Whether or not Doherty stays clean, I predict that he won’t go back to prison ever again.

After leaving his first successful stint in rehab, Pete celebrated by granting an impromptu solo gig at the Sun Inn in Marlborough. Between tracks, he sipped on pints of Guinness and “kissing all the girls who asked for one.” As to that little rumour of Doherty’s engagement to Irina Lazareanu, she was nowhere to be seen at this gig. Fortunately, Holy Moly keeps us appraised on Irina’s recent activities:

Pete Doherty’s new fiancee, Irina Lazareanu, overdosed twice backstage at shows during New York fashion week.

So, Pete Doherty is truly clean for the first time in five years, but his rumoured fiancee is a hardcore druggie. Yeah, like that’s going to work out.

UPDATE:
Pete Doherty’s manager, Andy Boyd, has dismissed Jeannevol’s suicide claims as “untrue.” Further, Boyd has disavowed all involvement with Jeannevol on the part of Doherty, which is rather untrue since their history together is rather well documented. However, no one can deny that avoiding present and future contact with that schmuck is the wisest thing for a prison-avoiding Doherty to do.

Not to be pedantic or anything, but as a person in recovery myself I have to point out that someone who doesn’t do heroin but drinks Guinness may very well be clean, but is not “sober”.

Generally hanging around with your old drinking/drugging buddies is a very quick way to lapse back into old habits. If he was really serious, he would not be around anyone doing this.

Pete needs to stop reading Valley of the Dolls. Pills are a notoriously unreliable deux ex machina for ravaged lives. I would suggest a straight razor or a noose as more effective. A gun would be ideal, but when in England…

Also, he was rejected for a gun license several months ago . . .

A handgun license or a shotgun certificate? From what I understand the latter are not hard to get in the UK, and the shotgun’s role in dramatic exits is well-established.
