After that, our Antihero will either clean up or join the cockroaches after nuclear intervention. At any rate, Pete Doherty was arrested in the wee hours of the morning, remains in police custody, and will be charged tomorrow in court for drunk driving and possession of class A drugs. According to This Is Gloucestershire:
Gloucestershire Police confirmed a 30-year-old man from Marlborough in Wiltshire was currently in custody.
A spokesman said: “The 30-year-old man arrested in Derby Road, Gloucester, in the early hours of this morning has now been charged.
“The man, from the Marlborough area of Wiltshire, has been charged with dangerous driving, possession of class A drugs, drink driving and driving without a valid licence and insurance.
“He will appear at Stroud Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.”
The arrest came about 30 minutes after Pete played one of his infamous “small and intimate” solo gigs (not the one shown above) for a gathering of around 300 fans at the city’s Guildhall.
Yes, it really was only a matter of time, mates.
