Readers who weren’t living under a rock a little more than a year ago might remember when Dita von Teese walked out on Marilyn Manson and divorced him, while Manson hooked up with the considerably younger Evan Rachel Wood. In the above picture, Dita is the woman on the left and Evan is the woman on the right. I think. That’s Evan on the red carpet for the premiere of her new movie Life before Her Eyes, and one can only hope that somewhere Dita is laughing her delectable ass off over this thoroughly creepy transformation. The process is even more startling when you consider what Marilyn had to work with (take a look on the next page):

Yes but… and keep in mind here that I LIKE Rose McGowan, but she was approximately 4.8 times as hot as Rose McGowan to start with.
I have an even creepier hypothesis to throw out there: do all these women look like his mother? Maybe in a strange twist on the (already strange) Oedipus complex, he wants to sleep with his mother after she is dead.
While I have theorized at some length on this subject I should amend the words “considerably younger” go some way toward explaining the phenomenon.
And - with apologies for self-linking - I suggested most analysis would start by asking Manson about his mother.

Okay, after reading Flea’s excellent analysis, Marilyin Manson is beginning to genuinely creep me out. Which is ironic, since he’s spent his entire career trying and failing to achieve that.
In this picture Evan appears to be going for the Marilyn Manson look even more than Dita’s look. Which makes it just as creepy or more.
