R. Kelly is headed to court on September 17th, he was charged with 14 counts of child pornography roughly 5 years ago.

The ‘Ignition’ star – real name Robert Kelly – will go on trial for 14 counts of child pornography after Judge Vincent Gaughan set a court date of September 17 at a hearing yesterday (01.08.07).

Kelly faces up to 15 years behind bars if he is convicted of videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl.

The R’n'B singer’s spokesperson said: “Robert has said many times he believes in our justice system. He is looking forward to finally having his day in court. He’s confident that when all the facts come out, it will be clear he’s not guilty of any crime.”

The prosecutors are saying the girl in the video was 13 at the time. I’m guessing his faith in the justice system is tied to Mel Gibson’s and Lohan’s assumptions that “stars” can do whatever the fuck they want. If he’s innocent, I hope he’s cleared. If not, I hope he gets a cell mate hung like a stallion with the sex drive of a functioning retard.
