The star of Legally Blonde, Reese Witherspoon, cares what the general public thinks:

I’ll go on the internet late at night and find out what people really think about me … It hurts my feelings sometimes though, because I get comments like, “She looks weird”, [sic] “I hate her movies” and “She stinks” … Oh God, it feels terrible.”

On one hand, ’tis rather refreshing in light of those who “Do the Cruise” and hold up airport traffic to take off in their own private jets. Is this evidence of a new undercurrent in Hollywood, with a “Day Of The Locust” vibe tossed in for good measure? Low self-esteem and delicate feelings might be remedied by starting her own blog. After all, one who spends hours online each night may just need a prescription for a kick-ass comments script and a flashing blogroll. Or perhaps that’s just the Vegas influence speaking. Bygones.
