The whole thing started when Trent Reznor admitted to not much caring for Cornell’s latest effort:

In response, Cornell attempted to take the high road (that is, to Heaven), but, sadly, merely replicated a rather unoriginal set of biblical quotations. Of course, Trent enthusiasts will remember that Reznor himself played Judas in a high school production:

Meanwhile, Trent’s entourage members are shuffling uncomfortably in their ergonomic seats and wondering if they should speak up. For his part, Saul Williams is staying out of this shit:

Some nonchalant levity comes from NIN touring bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen, who spoofs Reznor’s recent “no pants” declaration:

Thankfully, Alessandro Cortini, off-on keyboardist for Nine Inch Nails, isn’t afraid to give his thoughts on the matter. As a matter of fact, he started dissing Cornell’s new album way before Trent picked up on it:

In conclusion, I have to (unsurprisingly) agree with Reznor on this matter. While I can tolerate (in small doses) both Timbaland and Cornell, their unholy union brings me nothing but misery.
