Much buzz has been heard of late in reference to Rose McGowan’s affair with a married Robert Rodriguez, which quite possibly caused the director’s divorce:
Rodriguez and his spouse of 16 years, Elizabeth Avellan, raised five kids and worked together, with Elizabeth serving as his co-producer on “Grindhouse,” “Sin City,” “From Dusk Till Dawn,” “Desperado” and “Spy Kids.”
But the marriage exploded last April when Page Six reported that Rodriguez, 38, had begun a torrid romance with McGowan, the raven-haired, French-Irish minx once engaged to shock rocker Marilyn Manson.
“It was the worst-kept secret on the set. They were going off to his trailer, having meals together,” our source said. “Rose thought some of the crew were treating her differently, and the attitude was, like, well what do you expect when you’re [bleeping] the director?”
There is some speculation that the Rose-Robert affair is a publicity move. I doubt that’s the case since Grindhouse will do well at the box office on its own merits. Their affair has been fairly publicized since last summer, and at that time, members of the Grindhouse forum started referring to Rose as a whore. Interestingly enough, they did not insult Robert as such.
As Celebitchy states, it takes two to cheat, and it most definitely does. Quite honestly, I did try to ignore this story because the impending release of the double feature thrills me to no end, but thought I should say something to avoid a Perez-Paris display of favoritism. The suckdom is acknowledged.

The IMDB bio for Ms. McGowan indicates that she is not married. Despicible as it is to play any role in breaking up a marriage–she at least is not guilty of cheating.

Yeah, okay, so it may not be a nice thing to do for a single gal to go after a married man, but I really think he’s the bastard here. He was the married one after all. I don’t know which one of them did the pursuing, but regardless, it seems to me that he is the one who should be more vilified since he is the one who had made those vows. If you’re gonna promise yourself to one person you gotta make sure you can keep your dick in your pants even when a hottie like Rose McGowan rubs up against you. I hate the way the woman is always blamed. In this case, only one of them was cheating… and it was not her.
