Poor Katie Holmes. Her acting career is at best lukewarm these days, and her stint on So You Think You Can Dance was widely regarded as an overhyped disappointment. Now she’s trying her hand at yet another career, in her ongoing attempt to define herself as something other than Tom Cruise’s lovebot. Next month Katie and her design partner Jeanne Yang will kick off their line of Holmes & Yang fashions, supposedly inspired by “Katie’s personal sense of style.” What this means is a little mystifying, since Katie’s style sense seems to run to sweaters and jeans, and the occasional men’s suit that Tom hasn’t grown into yet.
