You are currently witnessing Sean Penn doing his best “Sad Keanu” with an added (and wholly bizarre) Robert Smith-esque interpretational dance of doom. We’ve already spoken, in rather jovial terms, of Penn’s latest project, This Must Be The Place, in which the reknowned actor plays an an aged rock star and Masteroscarbaiter, but these pictures are just downright depressing. Then again, things shall certainly get cheerier soon when filming commences for the supposed Nazi hunter portion of the story. In that regard, this is a really brilliant costuming scheme. Those Nazis will never see him coming.

He will forever be Spicoli to me. (Especially when commenting on politics.)
I forgot to tell you that I saw him at the Detroit airport about three weeks ago. We were standing in the line at security and up he walked to the next lane over, the priority lane. He looks precisely as you would imagine: tired, scrawny and self-conscious. He kept looking around in a weird “Does anyone notice me” kind of way. I didn’t see a single person approach him.
Oh, and you night think it would be exciting to see a “star”. It wasn’t. The very first words out of my mouth were “There’s Sean Penn. The prick.”.
I know, because my co-worker laughed and reminded me of what I said when we returned to Jax.
I hope you said “The prick” at least loud enough for a few others to hear!
It might not have been an exciting encounter, but I probably would have flipped him the bird. Or flashed a gang symbol. Or something stupid like that.
