When Christina Aguilera released the 2002 video for “Dirrty,” those fans expecting to hear bubble gum pop were seriously pissed off, but I do suspect that more people were quite pleased at her so-called transformation. The video featured Aguilera dancing provocatively in a boxing ring, atop a table, and in the shower with her female backup dancers in an underground night club. The video earned her the nickname “X-Tina” perhaps in part due to Aguilera’s simulated masturbation while singing “I need that, uh, to get me off.”

Britney Spears was not unknown for her risqu” music videos when 2003′s “Toxic” was released. This video featured interspersed clips of Britney entirely nude except for some strategically placed crystals. Spears didn’t leave female viewers disappointed either, since several male models appeared within the steamy scenes of the futuristic video. One can never underestimate the power of a shirtless Tyson Beckford, but this video makes us all nostalgic for the Britney who had yet to be saddled with KFed and his sooper sperm.

Whitesnake couldn’t go wrong in the era of glam rock by hiring Tawny Kitaen to roll all over the hood of a Jaguar and do the splits while wearing a sheer white negligee. Another tidbit for those who just don’t know enough about lead singer David Coverdale, who recently confirmed the urban legend that the name “Whitesnake” came from the appearance of Coverdale’s penis:

“Totally. Probably if I was from Asia it would be a different colour. But being a Yorkshire lad and all…”

Before you ponder that admission for too long, let’s move along swiftly to the next nominee, shall we?

Another video with a model rolling around in very little clothing, but this time around, it’s Helena Christensen frolicking on the beach with the very sexy Chris Isaak. The video boosted the song’s popularity into the heart of popular culture – including a Beverly Hills 90210 makeout scene between Dylan and Brenda and the Friends episode entitled “The One Where Ross and Rachel…You Know.” Along with the visual stimuli in the video, the crooning of Chris Isaak just oozes sensuality.

The above picture says it all concerning Ricky Martin, which leads one to believe that ambiguity could indeed be sexy. Just maybe.
