So I hopped a plane last Friday to visit my dear friend Chrissy, and her resident handsome bartender. A few other folks had the same idea, namely Silk and Mister Goat, and it was a most delightful if not slightly decadent weekend.
The weekend began in a slightly off-kilter manner when upon arrival at La Casa Del Feisty, I promptly took a graceful tumble down the stairs. Indeed, when I next showered, I discovered a bruise the size of The Alamo on my ass. Keep in mind that The Alamo is quite small though, and this leads to the inference that not all things are bigger in Texas. At least I managed to fly through the air with style.
Okay, details. Go to Chrissy for the scoop on this lowkey event. I do concur that this weekend was completely different from any “blogmeet” you have probably read of. This wasn’t one of those sorts of meetings filled with drama and hidden happenings that you only hear of nine months later. Pfffft. Let me just say that someone got spanked, the carrot cake was delicious, and I am completely blessed to have somehow befriended such fine folk.
Chrissy somehow embodies an inner tapestry of generosity, anal-retentiveness, and damn fine cooking skills. Silk is indeed my English Sistah, and I was thrilled to finally meet her in person. Mister Goat is always wonderful company, and I thank him for introducing me to my latest addiction:
Somehow I managed to let this graphic novel series pass by me while I let the ancient tomes of law distract me over the past 3 1/2 years, but I’m making up for it now. This series is presently being devoured by yours truly, and lemme tell ya – Amazon.com must love this flurry of activity coming from my end. Neo-Noir has never known such maddening heights, and my mind is completely obsessed with the characters within.
Finally, next time that I pull guest-bloggers onto the scene, a precaution exists in cases of beaverliciousness coupled with Barry Manilow and Al Green. Yep – I’ve installed a panic button for my lurkers’ convenience:
Is it working yet?
UPDATE: Silk and her friend Colleen are presently taking Manhattan by surprise. Nugget has the Silken Snippets.

Hey, it ain’t my fault that Beaver wouldn’t cooperate. I quoteth Eric: …no one likes an uncooperative beaver…. I was just searching for answers.
Perhaps next time a bit of Mel Torme or Tony Bennett. If things get too bad we’ll break out ole Blue Eyes.
Luuv the panic button!!
I need one of those!
Excellent weekend, Sistah Sadie, most excellent.
Thank you for coming down, as well as for the beautiful words.
I’m at a loss, though, when are we doing this again?
Glad you’re enjoying the 100 Bullets graphic novel. I *thought* you might like that. #9 comes out fairly soon. I’ve got them all so far and they’re all good.
It was great to see you again and I look forward to seeing you at another blogmeet soon!
I devoured the entire book.
When will we see the footage of the spanking?
Heh. Do you have a one-track mind or what?
I’m a GUY.
*I* have the digital footage!
Great to finally meet you in the flesh, Sadie. I really enjoyed visiting with you and I hope to see you again soon.

Nugget is on his way. I’m so incredibly excited to see him that I’m not entirely sure what it is I’m supposed to be doing this morning. So, while I wait impatiently I figured I might as well sit at…

Silk has even recovered enough energy and overcome her jet lag to post a quite comprehensive tale of the visit from her perspective.
