Sin City 2 Buzz

It’s always slightly amusing to hear anecdotes from directors about their fellow moviemaking buddies. Director Joe Carnahan (Smokin’ Aces ) gives his readers a little tidbit about one of his pal’s upcoming films:

Robert Rodriguez stopped by the office yesterday and showed me what may become the teaser for ‘SIN CITY 2′ and HOLY SH*T is it something. I don’t want to let any cats out of any bags, so all I can say is there’s not a hetero male moviegoer alive that’s not going to deeply DIG that spot. Remember, he’s doing ‘A Dame To Kill For’ and brother has he got it. That guy’s enthusiasm for filmmaking is infectious too. A solid bloke and a good soul.

“A Dame to Kill For” centers around the character of Dwight McCarthy, played by the smashingly handsome Clive Owen, whose life becomes slightly complicated when ex-love Ava pops up. Rosario Dawson will appear again as Gail the badass hooker, and rumour has it that Rachel Weisz has captured the role of Ava after Angelina Jolie’s busy family life caused her to pull out of the film. Certainly, Rodriguez is looking forward to this sequel that rests upon the blackened shoulders of its predecessor.
