Look, I know we’ve been on a downward slide for quite a while now, but at some point can’t we get this over with and just hit fuckin’ rock bottom, already? Bad enough that Hills “reality star” Lauren Conrad was delusional enough to think she could write a novel. Worse that L. A. Candy would reach number one on the best seller lists, much less that it’s still selling even as we speak. (Or type. Whatever.) But that’s not the end of the degradation. Lauren’s already hard at work on her second novel, and the movie rights for L.A. Candy have already been sold. The next year or so in the movie theatres is going to be awesome.

Not surprisingly, Lauren made this deal with the same fine people who are currently inflicting the “Twilight” series on us. Her next book (and the one after) will be sequels to L.A. Candy, so there might even be a “Candy” franchise lurking in our future. Honestly, news like this almost makes me look forward to Michael Bay’s Ouija board project. At least the source material is probably better written.
