Your eyes do not deceive you. In the spirit of Scary Movie and all its illegitimate progeny, Hispano Foxfilm (20th Century Fox International) presents Spanish Movie, which releases in Spain on Dec. 4. From the looks of these posters and the below trailer, this movie is just as tasteless as you’d expect it to be. Naturally, Spanish Movie stars Leslie Nielsen– who, with any luck, may just find his demise at the claws of El Chupacabra. Of course, I’d feign skepticism over whether Spaniards will actually flock to see this movie, but haven’t you seen some of the crap they air on Univision?
For your edification, here’s the theatrical trailer (I admit to one tiny laugh at the parody of Javier Bardem’s character from No Country For Old Men):

We don’t get Univision in Spain– that would be only for Latin America.
I’m truly curious about what the deal is with this film– from the images it would seem another carcass of a ‘parody’ of these past years’ crop of fantasy/horror films made in Spain or by Spaniards. Calling it “Spanish Movie”, though, sounds so much more ominously idiotic than that…
