Mexican president Vicente Fox is about to sign a drug-reform bill that apparently was drafted by the editorial board of High Times:
The list of illegal drugs approved for personal consumption by Mexico’s Congress last week is enough to make one dizzy—or worse. Cocaine. Heroin. LSD. Marijuana. PCP. Opium. Synthetic opiates. Mescaline. Peyote. Psilocybin mushrooms. Amphetamines. Methamphetamines.
The bill does include provisions that are intended to combat large-scale drug trafficking, but I suspect the main consequence for gringos will be a big jump in the volume of drugs coming over our southern border. ¡Muchas gracias, Señor Presidente!
