While I do like cats, I prefer the company of dogs. I suppose it’s my affinity for pack hunters. I used to think, just like other people, that “My dog thinks she’s human”. But no, she doesn’t. And she doesn’t think we’re 2-legged dogs. She gets that we’re different species with different capacities, but she accepts us as members of the same pack nonetheless. And while she’s far to small to ever effectively protect us, I know she’d die in the attempt.

I’m bi-petual, but I do prefer dogs somewhat. Cats are convenient for a flat-dweller, but dogs are better suited to go almost anywhere (like to the park, or cross-country by road).
