Heeb Magazine unveils a few articles from its new “Germany Issue,” which includes, naturally, cover girl Melanie Laurent and a feature on Inglourious Basterds, as well as this spiffy illustration of Quentin Tarantino as one of the Reservoir Dogs (in Mr. White’s pose) shooting Hitler (as Mr. Pink… quite fitting, really).
The moderately spoilerific feature article discusses, among other things, Basterds in the context of several other Nazi films. In addition, it touches upon Tarantino’s version of events (and cinema as a whole) as revisionist history with a healthy dose of contemplation upon the impact of Inglourious Basterds on future Nazi films.
Next up on the Basterds front, Eli “Killjoy” Roth has spoken to MTV about how he took advantage of “alone time” with one Brad Pitt.
(…Wakka Chikka Wakka Chikka…. )
Nooooo, it wasn’t anything dirty like that, or maybe it was:
“I was wondering: ‘You’re at a baseball game and you have to take a p-ss,” Roth said with a laugh, remembering his query on the set of “Inglourious Basterds.” “What do you do?’”
Credit Mr. Angelina Jolie with an open-book answer, as Pitt told Roth that it happens to him all the time. “It’s a real problem,” Roth recalled Pitt’s response. “[He told me] ‘you go into a bathroom at Dodger Stadium, and everyone is looking at you. It’s kind of weird… you have to wait until the Dodgers are up, and it thins out – and then you find an empty stall.’”
After that joyous little tidbit, Roth also made mention of Pitt “always keeping it loose on set,” but I just can’t cope with acknowledging the details of that exchange. You know, because of my delicate sensibilities and all that.
