The Cutting-Edge Artistry of Amy Winehouse

By Mr. Atoz in Amy Winehouse, Chavs

amyNot at all insane British chanteuse Amy Winehouse continues to go for the Gold in the Pete Doherty Wannabe competition, Women’s Division. During an interview published in this month’s Spin Magazine, the emaciated trainwreck posed for pictures holding a shard of broken mirror, used the same shard to cut the words “I love Blake” into her stomach, and used it yet again to check out her nose after her frequent visits to the restroom. Meanwhile, when her equally charming husband Blake Fielder-Civil was hassled by a drunken bald guy (the interview was conducted in a bar), he responded by whispering to the interviewer, “Tell the guy who looks like he has leukemia I’m going to slit his throat.” Sort of like Britain’s version of the Jolie-Pitts, with more cutting and blow and sinister threatsand, mercifully, less children.

In fairness, Amy isn’t promoting any of this twisted idiocy as cool behavior, and she insists she’s not a role model. From the interview, here are a couple of her typical remarks on the subject of Amy Winehouse:

I don’t care. I don’t care about any of this and I don’t have much of an opinion of myself. I don’t think people care about me…. I don’t think I’m such an amazing person who needs to be written about.

And if I did I’d be a f***ing right ****, wouldn’t I?

And maybe even if you didn’t, Amy.
