This week Clinique kicked off their Fresh Faces Tour in Union Square Plaza, aided by the celebrity clout of Taylor Momsen from Gossip Girl. Taylor was more than ready to take on the assignment. “I love make-up,“ she told anyone who would listen. “I love drama and I love self expression and extremes, so make-up is a great way to show that.”

Evidently Clinique is going after the tiny but highly obnoxious niche market of teenage ironic hipster douchebags-in-training, because Taylor doesn’t exactly define “fresh faced.” Actually, the former Cindy Lou Who is probably one of the most dissolute-looking teenagers on this side of the Atlantic. (Now that Peaches Geldof is back in London, anyway.) You get the feeling that Ali Lohan looks at pictures of Taylor and thinks, “You know, all things considered my life is pretty much under control.” Also, her character on Gossip Girl has turned into an absolute bitch. Damn you, Jenny Humphrey! When will you change your scheming ways? (Umm, not that I’ve ever seen the show. *Koff*)
