50 Cent might be one of the top earning rappers, well, ever, but all those bucks don’t necessarily buy even a minimal amount of sophistication. Last night, comic and Parks & Recreation fixture Aziz Ansari appeared on Letterman and talked about this and that—most notably the time when he was sitting near Fiddy in a restaurant and got to hear the rapper complaining that the grapefruit juice he ordered wasn’t, you know, grape colored. (Video at the link.) Either this is a lie that gets reliable laughs or the incident really happened, because Ansari was sharing the same story with audiences nearly a year ago:

At this point I realized that 50 Cent has no idea what a grapefruit is!” Ansari shouted with astonishment. “The waiter is explaining it to him! I get to be there for that moment in 50 Cent’s life—when he finds out what a grapefruit is!”

If 50 Cent was disappointed by the color, I’ll bet he absolutely hated the flavor. Nothing at all like one of those wholesome, purple-colored Grape Slurpees. Basically, you get the distinct impression this man would be better off sticking with Taco Bell.
