Amanda Seyfried, who plays the dorky best friend in the Diablo Cody-scribed Jennifer’s Body, has, unsurprisingly, been described as the actual talent of the film, as opposed to you-know-who, who is currently riding the cusp of the the Jessica Alba-esque career trajectory:

The first time I heard of Megan Fox was on a radio morning show shortly before the first Transformers film hit theaters. The DJ was raving about this hot new actress who was certain to become “the next Jessica Alba!” Seeing as how it hasn’t been that long since the original Jessica Alba was the one starring in popular yet mediocre action blockbusters and she’s already been replaced, that might be a sign that Ms. Fox might need to start worrying about her prospects at a long, successful career.

Indeed, long before Fox shall enter her pre-planned “serious actress” joke of a phase, Seyfriend is already there:

Though Jennifer’s Body is being sold largely on the hot media presence of Megan Fox, it is Amanda Seyfried as Jennifer’s best friend Needy who gives the film its heart and soul. Surprisingly, for a film full of quick-witted quips and zinging cultural reference, Seyfried does her best work with simple glances, conveying confusion, affection, desire, surprise and rage without saying a word.

In addition, I do believe that Ms. Seyfried is actually much prettier than Ms. Fox. Take a look, mates:
