Sunday is a lazy day around the blogidohexidone and since I’m lacking anything with which to entertain you lurkers with I’ll direct you to a video. Primarily targeted at those who long for the glory days of the ’80s we head back to 1988 with the Pixies, or those who are at least old enough to remember the ’80s.
Debaser is also an excellent tune and was included in the NCAA Football 2006 video game.
I’m feeling a new musical theme on agentbedhead.com: All ’80s All the Time. Maybe next week we’ll dig up some Wham! from the days when George was still a ladies man.

Good idea, but let’s take it a step further. How about an homage to those obscure, lesser known bands that were on the periphery of success, but still a part of every mix tape I made from 1983-1989. I’ll start off with Haircut 100, then some Oingo Boingo, Romeo Void, Wall of Voodoo, Devo, ABC, Bronski Beat, Ministry, Dead or Alive, etc., etc…

Everyone may have heard of “Whip It”, but the album “Oh, No, It’s Devo” is the all time techno-pop classic. It was the soundtrack to my freshman year in high school, when everyone else in East Texas was still listening to Urban Cowboy.

Oh dear, in Junior High I had a Devo poster in my room with them wearing the plastic hair.
And oh dear, in college The Pixies and The Jesus and Mary Chain were my two all-time favorite bands. I never got to see TJMC live but I did get to see The Pixies twice in one weekend! (The first time they opened for Jane’s Addiction.) And I’ll never forget the very last seen in “Lost in Translation” which opens with that TJMC song that is recognizable in ONE note.
