This is one of those half-full/half-empty stories. According to Holy Moly, Amy Winehouse was horrified to discover that the hair in her spider hatchery might have been shorn from the heads of Romanian orphans. Apparently the poor kids are one of the main sources for the hair extensions worn by Amy and others, and since Amy represents something like 70 percent of the market for this product, she understandably felt implicated in this tawdry business. So Amy is now taking pains to ensure that her weaves are ethically sourced, and she’s donating $100,000 to a Romanian orphanage.
That’s the “half full” part. But Amy should probably extend this gesture beyond Romania to several other countries. Maybe some sort of donation for eastern Europe generally. A quick Google search shows there are less than 50,000 children in Romanian orphanages, and I don’t think they’d provide nearly enough hair for that monstrosity.

Alright. I have to ask this. She is a good looking woman. Why is she doing this Elvira shit with her hair and makeup?
Why with that hair anyway? Sure it defies the mere concept of beauty, but it looks like rat’s nest. I’m assuming she’s trying to make a point, but the fact that it looks weird makes it a moot point at that…
