Upon recently learning of the breakup of one of my favourite bands, Garbage, I was not entirely surprised but still saddened. The band’s greatest hits, Absolute Garbage, will find itself on shelves in March 2007, and we’ll always have Cain’s Ballroom together. Sniff.
Oh don’t look so sad, darling blokes, for we can be assured of an awe-inspiring solo album in the works by Shirley Manson. Shirley is currently finishing songs that feature collabortions with the likes of Jack White, Billy Corgan, Beck, and perhaps most notably, Paul Buchanan of Blue Nile:
“It was a bolt out of the blue for me when Shirley asked me to write the song for her forthcoming solo album.
“She wrote a really nice email to me and I said: ‘Why do you want me to write you a song? You know what kind of stuff I write’. [sic ]
“But that’s what she wanted. She wants the album to be quite dark and moody.
“It was a real compliment. I was really happy to do it.”
Of course he was pleased as party punch to do so. Who wouldn’t want to achieve close proximity with Shirley Manson? The woman is a fucking goddess.

Well, a goddess with eyes so far apart she could pass for a parrot, sure.
It’s about time Shirl became more well-known. Enough of Gwen Stefani!
She is one of the hottest women walking the Earth.
She does have some awesome talent so she’ll make a damn good shot of it on her own. I didn’t think the last album was up to standard anyway…and it was still bloody great.
