The perfect reading material for a Monday. The Lactofree Intolerance Survey has compiled a list of the 100 most annoying things in British life, and it’s heartening to see so many items that piss people off on both sides of the Atlantic. (Except, possibly, for item #66, “Americans.” Okay, Americans can be pretty annoying right here in the USA. Sometimes I annoy myself into a veritable frenzy.) “Chavs” scored a solid #35, three places ahead of Amy Winehouse. However, if Amy is conscious enough to be aware of this poll, she can take some perverse pride in the fact that she edged out “Sienna Miller’s love life” and came in four places ahead of diarrhea. (Or “diarrhoea,” which might differ from the American-style Hershey squirts in ways I prefer not to think about.) Meanwhile, Posh Spice should be relieved to know she didn’t score any higher than #85, which makes her only slightly more annoying than skipping CDs and stubbing your toe. Peruse the list, and take comfort in the knowledge that even on an unusually crappy Monday, you probably won’t have to cope with more than half these irritations.
