These Boots Reprised

By The Mind Fuhrer in Christopher Walken, Ninth Circle

So where have I been these days, and how the hell am I? Well, it seems that I am making grand plans for change, but it’s a seekrit for the moment. In addition to being driven to distraction by working on designs and bemoaning the breakup of Jessica Simpson and Nick Whatthefuckshisname, the realization that I’m obsessed with Christopher Walken has settled in quite nicely.

Now I must share an email with my lurkers. It’s not nearly as entertaining as sharing email that Danny Boy receives, but it’s the nicest thing I’ve heard about this blog in ages….ever since I lost my chi or whatever. After the author wrote of his experience in small-screened AOL hell, the note read as follows:

Heck – even your screen at Fistful is too big for my screen. I hardly see your sidebar – but I don’t need it because yes your stuff is that good & I’m there to read. I especially like the material that lasts for maybe six or seven rather biting lines, complete with unstated subtext, and your final blow-off at the end. I don’t know anyone else who does it quite that way. You need to use more strike-throughs only because you do those better than most but I haven’t seen them lately anymore.

Strikethroughs? What fucking strikethroughs? And that’s great news – I don’t need no fucking sidebar anymore! That email just made my week. Bygones.
