You’ve got to admire her persistence. Tila Tequila was going to be the trailblazer who used her millions of MySpace “friends” to launch her musical career, but that didn’t turn out so well. Still, she’s determined to become some kind of celebrity, and Tila may have found her métier as a gonzo gameshow MC.

First, Tila hosted the first season of Pants-Off Dance-Off on Fuse.tv. TV Guide called PODO “the dumbest show on television,” so it’s no surprise that it became a ratings monster, the most popular show in Fuse’s line-up and a series that tripled late-night ratings for the fledgling network. Now Tila is moving to MTV, where she’ll be both the host and the grand prize on A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. Thirty-two contestants will compete to see who can move into a mansion with Tila and vie for her affections over the course of ten episodes. The twist here is that half the contestants are men, half women, and there’s no telling whether Tila’s eventual flava of the month will be male or female. MTV is touting it as the world’s first bisexual dating show, although I can’t help but think that somebody, somewhere has already done this.

*Sigh*. I remember a time back in my youth when MTV actually played videos. Music videos. It was considered kind of edgy at the time. Reading stuff like this makes me feel about 147 years old.
