Last August, Trent Reznor confirmed a “secret music project outside nine inch nails” that included Mariqueen Maandig (now Mariqueen Reznor), formerly of West Indian Girl. This week, Consequences Of Sound has received a legit PR email announcing a “Self-titled 6-track EP out this summer” along with a reference to HowToDestroyAngels.com, which features a “mysterious” 40-second clip and the above EP cover featuring, well, either Mariqueen or her nonexistent identical twin. No word on whether other musicans will be involved in the project, but the band’s name appears to reference an early single from Coil (one of Reznor’s early influences; also collaborated with Reznor on some remixes for 1995′s Further Down The Spiral). In addition, the HTDA website background looks a hell of a lot like the ones that Rob Sheridan has created for NIN in the past.
On a related note, the below video isn’t new but still amuses me greatly, so please do enjoy the hell out of John Travolta (in Saturday Night Fever) dancing to NIN’s “Discipline.” The resemblance to the official
official NIN video is almost uncanny.
