I would disagree with the ‘Battlefield Earth’ theory only because I saw that movie and when I did, I had no idea that it was an L. Ron Hubbard kookfest that was destined to become one of the worst movies of all time. I never pay attention to the reviews so I thought “Sci-Fi. Travolta (who was doing okay at the time). How bad could it really be. If Ebert gives it a thumbs-down, then there’s a good chance I’ll like it.” But now I, and the rest of the world, am aware of Tom and those crazy Scientologists.

This movie will get such bad press and good jokes for so long before a release date is even estimated, I don’t see how it will ever make it to anywhere other than straight to video. The next thing you hear about this, you’ll be standing in Blockbuster (unless you’ve had it out with them and moved to Netflix like I did years ago) and you’ll be staring at the new release section and saying “Honey, Do you remember seeing ‘The Thetan’? It’s got Tom Cruse and Posh Spice but I can’t remember it being at the theater. Oh, that’s right. It’s that Scientology movie that everyone’s been making fun of. Let’s just get ‘Howard the Duck’ again.”
