UK celebrities really have have it made in terms of defamation law. While it’s difficult to prove certain parts of a defamation case filed by a public figure, if it’s a close case, the inevitable settlement is usually pretty damn sweet. Posh Spice, whose reputation is worth literally millions, was lucky enough to settle one last case before domiciling her boobies in the United States:
Victoria Beckham accepted undisclosed damages Monday from a celebrity magazine that had claimed the crew of her U.S. television show considered her “picky, demanding and rude.”
While the amount of damages was not revealed to the press, both parties to the lawsuit acknowledge their “substantial” nature. The magazine actually made the statement before Posh actually started filming the show, which was a screwup that cost them a load of cash (probably in the six-digit range). So while Victoria just might be a raging bitch, the timing of such a statement is a delicate issue. At the very least, the tabloid should have spoken in terms of her wayward nipples, which are pretty much public knowledge all by themselves.

Hmmm… since I just happen to BE picky, demanding, rude AND a complete asshole, I need only book passage to England and hang out for a bit before finding someone to sue for defamation. My fortune is all but made! Now I can stop hanging out in churches, waiting to steal dollar bills from collection plates in order to fund my Powerball addiction. THANKS, Agent Bedhead!
