Weekend Video Flashback: Veruca Salt

By Bedhead in The Mind Fuhrer, Video Flashback

Despite the fact that Veruca Salt takes its name from the bitchy character in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, a movie that still scares the crap out of me, this band’s tunes are just too damn catchy. The following video from 1997, “Volcano Girls,” includes fuzzy guitars, punk-pop energy, a “fuck you” attitude, and bungee cords, which makes it a pick-me up for any lazy weekend morning.

They were good! And I didn’t even know until a few days ago that Nina had left the band after that album. No wonder they haven’t had a hit since then.

I also liked L7. This clip from Serial Mom contains gratuitous camel toe

Yeah, but L7 used to throw USED TAMPONS into the audience. EWWWW.
