Gawd, I do ♥ Harvey Weinstein, and if he wasn’t hittin’ that, I would find a way to plant a kiss on his shiny forehead. However, Tom Cruise must certainly be poised to use his sexy eyepatch as a rock-flinging sling after hearing of Weinstein’s recent acquisition of a Valkyrie challenger:
The Weinstein Company has picked up U.S. theatrical, DVD and television rights to the 2004 German film Operation Valykrie , a dramatization of the failed attempt to assassinate Adolf Hilter during World War II. Sound familiar? That’s because Bryan Singer’s upcoming 2009 release, Valkyrie, tells precisely the same story, with Tom Cruise in the role of would-be assassin Col. Claus Von Stauffenberg. In the German movie, the character is played by Sebastian Koch, the debonair star of The Lives of Others and Paul Verhoeven’s Black Book . . . Koch’s female co-star in Black Book, the alluring Carice van Houten, stars opposite Cruise in Valkyrie , creating the sort of meaty overlap that money can buy. Harvey Weinstein’s no slouch when it comes to instigating controversy.
Mostly because Weinstein’s film doesn’t feature Tom Cruise, we presume it will find a fairly willing audience. Hell, we’re even willing to bet that, unlike the Cruise version, actors and crew members were allowed, perhaps even encouraged, to break wind on the set. It’s all about morale, folks, and that brings results. In comparison to the laughable Cruise promo photos, the existing (German Dutch) DVD cover images of Operation Valkyrie are indeed rather impressive:
Another interesting tidbit is that Operation Valkyrie was originally released in 2004 as a German made-for-television film, so Cruise can’t exactly claim that anyone copied his film… in fact, quite the opposite may be true.
In related news, Sir Flea has the scoop on how “Anonymous” can turn Scientology’s love of the legal system against the cult. Meanwhile, the Chief Scientologist of NYC has responded to the pressure of “Anonymous” in the oddest of manners:
When Rev. John Carmichael, president of the Church of Scientology of New York, came face-to-face with a small contingent of Anonymous protestors this past Monday, he didn’t engage them in a spiritual debate. Instead, he leaned into one member on a Times Square street and said, “Let me tell you this: I smell pussy.” Then, looking squarely at the Anon added, “You in particular.”
Carmichael also called upon the members of “Anonymous” to “come out of the closet.” Ooh, cryptic! Perhaps this guy is a huge fan of “South Park,” or maybe he’s just attempting to gather information for use against Scientology’s critics within the “fair game” policy. Yeah, like that’s gonna work, jackass.

Interesting:) nice one
Just today another video was posted where a Scientologist tells a member of Anonymous “why don’t you just call al qaida and bomb my org.” He didn’t know the camera was running. Check his reaction when he realizes…

This cult is dying. And if this is all they’ve got left running the show… it won’t be long now.
[...] AB: Weinstein pisses off Tom Cruise [...]
One minor nitpick: the language on the DVD case is Dutch, not German.
lol that is too funny! Thanks again for getting the scoop on Scientology. Does indeed seem that they are cracking under pressure.
Curious about the Al Qaeda video. Scientology has done a similar thing before against their critic Pauline Cooper but then it was threatening Arabs in an attempt to frame her as revenge for exposing them. They called this Operation Freakout and it was related to Operation Snow White - (you can google both these terms for a lot of info, if you like, real freaky shit)
