Let us assume, just for a moment, that you, the generally upstanding citizen, fuck up, do something really stupid, and, consequently, you end up in jail for an extended holiday season. One day, you’re in the shower, minding your business and just about to lather up, but you drop the soap. Of course, you’re totally naked and surrounded by fellow prisoners. You look down, thinking to yourself, “This is such a fucking cliché that it cannot possibly be happening to me.” Oh, but it has happened, and as you glance forlornly at the swirling water that’s slowly eroding your virgin bar of soap, you gotta make a choice. So, what do you do? If you’re Kiefer Sutherland, the answer is fairly straightforward:

The 24 star was sentenced to 48 days in jail after he was caught driving under the influence in Los Angeles last September. He subsequently spent his 41st birthday, Christmas and New Year’s Eve behind bars.

Sutherland has now broken his silence about his time behind bars, joking, “I dropped the soap!” He continues: “I actually dropped the soap. I remember looking down at it and then I looked around and thought: ‘Soap is over-rated… I’m done with this shower!’”

Yeah, even as a complete germophobe, I gotta agree with the dude. Fuck the soap.
