While we hate to lend credence to Karl Lagerfield Jean Paul Gaultier, the fact of the matter is that designer clothes do hang better on tall and slender models than their more civilian counterparts. A cursory comparison of Oscar gowns worn by celebrities whose measurements are closer to realistic body types reveals that maybe those gay fashion designers really do have a point. Models really are mere clothes hangers.

But these people are supposed to be designers. You figure they would enjoy the challenge of actually having to deal with the female form.
Although I’m not a fan of the hot pink dress itself, I think Jessica Biel looks just as good wearing as the model. And, although I may be in the minority here, I think Ziyi Zhang looks beautiful.
I agree on Jessica Biel. And Ziyi Zhang — when doesn’t she look beautiful? Matters little what she wears.
Dunst and Fisher’s dresses don’t look good on the models either. They’re just ugly.
And Bob — great point. I wonder what Helen Mirren’s dress would look like on a model.
you have forgotten one itsy bitsy detail. the dresses are designed for and worn by real women. not anorexic models.
so, maybe if the designers took time and studied the real female physique they might come up with something that looks good on normal women.
that would be the sane thing to do.
The dress looks way sexier on Jessica Biel, and Isla Fisher too for that matter. And Cameron Diaz’s dress is ridiculous on everyone
True in the case of Beyonce, the model looks great but she looks cheap. Cameron and Kirsten dresses are just ridiculous and Ziyi Zhang looks beautiful, much better than the model.
