Fresh off the success of their “Sea Kitten” campaign to save the herring, those loveable scamps at PETA are looking for other targets to line up in their animal-friendly sights. The latest victim: Eliza Dushku, which makes tons of sense because Eliza Dushku is so widely hated (/sarc). Apparently everyone’s favorite bad girl made the mistake of appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live back in August and coming out as an avid bow hunter, much to the “horror” of the audience. PETA reacted strongly at the time, but the upcoming premiere of Dollhouse has put Eliza back in the spotlight and they seem to have decided the original press release sounded far too sane and un-PETA-like. According to the Daily News, PETA’s latest bulletin states that Eliza was

bragging on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ about hunting deer, elk and other defenseless ungulates. While the audience reacted in horror, Dushku attempted to defend herself by saying that it’s OK for her to hunt because she eats those she kills. Eliza, please meet Jeffrey Dahmer. He ate those he killed, too.”

I’ve got to admit, that compelling logic is making me reconsider my carnivorous ways. Let’s just hope this outrage doesn’t drive one of PETA’s bimbo minions to pose nude for another ad, because that campaign is really wearing down my resistance. If PETA makes me look at one more naked starlet, it’s nothing but Tofurkey and steamed broccoli from here on out.
