A recent publicity stunt in London at Leichester Square saw hundreds of zombies present to celebrate the straight-to-DVD film, Zombie Diaries. In a quite timely manner, the Daily Star reports that television producer Josh Whedon (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer”) is interested in casting Pete Doherty in a new BBC spinoff of the “Buffy” series:
“The show will follow Buffy’s mentor Giles after he decides to come out of retirement in his native England to solve ghost stories and other mysteries.
“Pete seemed the obvious choice, with his love of the macabre. The blood paintings and the self-styled night creature existence are perfect. It’s thought he’ll play an approximation of his real-life persona; the zombie remnants of a rock star and poet unable to rest and therefore haunting London.”
This sounds like one of those made-up rumours, but even if it were true, it would never work out. Television schedules are known to be quite grueling, and they often require 60 hour per week schedules on the part of the actors involved. Everyone in entertainment is quite aware of Pete’s *ahem* track record. He cannot even show up on time for concerts and is known to generally be about four hours off schedule. Then there are the complicating matters of his drug court visits and regular visits to jail.
‘Tis a shame, for Kate Moss would undoubtedly find Pete’s new look to be quite sexy.
